After releasing a teaser that gives audiences a FIRST LOOK into season one of Curvy Girls Rock, Harlem Fusion Studios, announced the release date of its official trailer. Curvy girls and curvy girl lovers can check out the trailer here and online on October 27, 2017.
For those that are unfamiliar with the series, Curvy Girls Rock, follows the lives of five women juggling the demands of their careers, relationships and everything in between. It tells the story of what it means to be a woman in pursuit of your dreams, no matter the stumbles, mistakes, loss and heartache. This is especially true of the character Ivy, who is coming into a greater awareness of Self, after an on-again and off-again relationship with Bo, played by Elijah Bland.
Curvy Girls Rock was created with the intention of giving plus size women authentic representations in television. In contrast to the common narrative of plus size women in film/television, which paints them to be sad, half characters, whose only purpose is to be a supportive role, the characters of CGR are strong, independent, funny and ambitious. The trail-blazing series is written, produced and directed by Shakesha Williams, who believes that the characters of Curvy Girls Rock are true reflections of the majority of women around the world, in both body image and individuality.
The series is currently in production and anticipates a release date in 2018. Stay connected with the development of this project and follow the series on Instagram: @CurvyGirlsRockSeries.
