Feeling Grateful For My Hawaii Time

I have been back in New York for 48 hours and all I can think about is how beautiful Hawaii is. I spent my weeks snorkeling, dancing, singing, trying not to slip on wet rocks, kissing cute boys, making new friends (lost a few too) - and I can't wait to go back. It's freezing in NY; actually it's in the 40s but since I spent the past nine months in BEAUTIFUL tropical weather, my body is not happy with me.

While sailing around the Hawaii islands for several GLORIOUS months, I thought it would be a good idea to put together some videos to showcase what I've been doing with myself for all the world to see. I had the honor of kicking off Black History Month by participating in a reading of a play by Zora Neale Hurston titled The First One. In my short career, I have not participated in several readings so when I showed up at Red Shirt Entertainment I wasn't sure what to expect.
I knew one of my new favorite people was going to be there, winner of 14 Audelco Awards, Rajendra Majaraj, and fierce choreographer James Harkness, but other than that I was doe eyed and ready to play.

2011 has been an amazing year of growth and change in so many beautiful ways. In addition to launching Soul Kisses TV, I am officially EMC and have a whole new look.

I'm rather surprised I didn't blog about this earlier! I use social media in numerous ways and lately, I have been using Twitter to connect with folks I otherwise may never have access to. This means, in addition to tweeting about SKTV, what I'm watching on TV and other shenanigans, I am tweeting often with managers and casting directors.

It i Friday night and I am feeling an array of emotions. I am simply in love with Dawn Melissa who is shooting and editing Soul Kisses TV for me. I believe meeting her was a true gift from God and I am so happy I chose to follow the signs leading me to her.
